Omar Nelson Bradley

12 February, 1893 –  8 April, 1981

Nickname the GI general.

 

Bradley was an American General in World War II. He commanded in North Africa, D-Day, Battle of the Bulge and others important battles.

 

North Africa

He went there in April and was under the command of Patton. He was head of II corps and led them through the lasts battles in the last few months of campaign.

 

D-Day

During the invasion he commanded 3 corps that were in both invasions (American).

Bradley was the one who planed to trap the fifth panzer army and seventh German army.

 

Battle of Bulge

The unit Bradley was commanding was the one that got hit by the German counter offensive. But the bulge was pushed back.

 

At the end of the war, the 12th army numbered 1.3 million solders.
