Douglas MacArthur

Mac Arthur was an American general during World War II. He commanded the Allied army in the Philippines and led the whole allied army in the South Pacific.

 

Philippines

Macarthur lost in the defense of the Philippines. He earned a medal of honor for the defense.

 

Leadership of the South Pacific

He led all allied troops. MacArthur lead numerous invasions in the South Pacific.

MacArthur was nominated to lead the invasion of Japan but it was cancelled.

 

In late 1945 he was prompted to a 5 star general.
